I apologize for the delayed response, Gideon. I’m glad you’ve found the document helpful. To use the “Triple-S formula” means to state, support, and summarize your point. This concept is carried over from another document used in the course titled “Design Your Message.” It is a template for outlining a presentation broken down in the following order:

Develop Your Introduction

Gain Attention:
State You Purpose:
Preview Your Points:

Use the Triple-S formula

Point 1
State:
Support:
Summarize:

Point 2
State:
Support:
Summarize:

Point 3
State:
Support:
Summarize:

Develop Your Conclusion

Review Your Points:
Restate Your Purpose:
Close with Power:

This is basically the same format used in the Writing Advantage class for designing documents (Or email) that people will actually read. The design also focuses on what you expect the intended audience to do, know, or feel based on your message. The August 3, 1978 memo to the plant manager at Three Mile Island (Now know as the $3 Billion Memo) is a good example of failing to insure your message is clear enough so the receipt will actually read it and know how to respond.

I’ve all but abandoned MySpace. Facebook is a much more intelligently designed system, both from the graphic design/UI standpoint and from a backend architecture standpoint. Also, the ads on Facebook are far less obtrusive than they are on MySpace. I was really glad when Facebook finally started allowing anyone to join, and more of my friends started joining there. Unless myspace completely redesigns the site (both front- and back-end) I suspect it’s only a matter of time before Facebook overtakes them for music too.

unfortunately it looks as if too many people are looking for a babysitter and not a leader. you are talking about a leadership that illuminates the way of individual responsibility and the virtues of self sufficiency. others might define a leader as a father figure who provides – thats what i think is happening now in this nation – to our peril.

tent posts in my life have been giants of creativity who blazed the trails or liberated me from narrow thinking or other limitations.

im glad to have found your pages where i can visit you. it was really great to meet bethany and your adorable sons. i agree with the comment above – you’re exceptional.
